How it gets scoped
Steel condition varies bay to bay. We sample a representative area during the site walk before quoting the building.
Painted, galvanized and bare steel respond differently. Method is selected to clean without damaging the surface.
Overview
Steel holds what the air drops
Exposed structure collects whatever the building produces. In a dry warehouse that is dust on the top flange of every joist. In a plant it is oil mist and process residue that has bonded to the paint. The two are cleaned with different methods, so the first thing we establish is which one you have.
Steel cleaning is often bought alongside high dusting, but they are not the same scope. High dusting removes loose accumulation from everything overhead. Steel cleaning is a closer pass on the frame itself, including bonded film that dry methods leave behind.

Method
How the method gets chosen
Finish and residue decide the approach, and both are checked on site:
- Bare, painted and galvanized steel each tolerate different chemistry and pressure.
- Dry dust responds to vacuum capture; oil film and carbon need a wet or damp pass.
- What sits underneath sets whether anything can be allowed to fall at all.
- Painted steel that is already failing is cleaned conservatively and flagged rather than stripped.
- A sample bay is cleaned first so you can see the realistic result before the building is priced.
Access
Reaching the frame
High-access work may require lifts or other access equipment depending on the facility and scope. Clear height, aisle width, rack spacing and slab condition decide what can travel where the steel is, and how many repositions a bay takes.
Access requirements are evaluated during project planning, and site-specific requirements are reviewed before mobilization.
